When does the ASPCA truck comes out to 10026 and do they take Medicaid for a Yorkie. She had 2 puppies and was never spayed. She will be turning 9 yrs old on Jan 27th. She hasn't had a checkup in about 7 or 8 yrs. She needs a checkup.

Medicaid is for people, not animals. They may have a sliding pay scale.
I am not sure if this is the same in all cities, but in some places if you provide proof of YOUR Medical Assistance (or if you are on Medicare or have other what can be called "public assistance programs") you may be entitled for discounts (and in some states free spaying) for your pet. You would have to talk to intake folks on the truck that comes to your neighborhood and ask their policy.

The van that travels in New York city does have this program...their website states: Does my cat or dog qualify for surgery on a Mobile Spay/Neuter Clinic?
The ASPCA strives to make spay/neuter accessible and affordable for all New York City residents. Low-income pet parents in New York City's five boroughs with proof of public assistance such as welfare, Medicaid, Medicare, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), disability, food stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or public housing qualify for heavily subsidized spay/neuter services for their cat or dog. Those receiving unemployment benefits do not qualify.

With proof of public assistance: No Cost

I hope the one that comes to your town offers this discount (or other) for you. Be sure to take all of your paperwork with you...like your assistance cards (like your insurance card, your SNAP card etc.) and if you get housing letters regarding section 8 housing, etc. Taking your official papers for your assistance at the start will save time and make your intake easier and will help them figure out what you may be eligible for for your fur baby's care.
Your pup may be a little old to have spayed at this point, but that is for a vet to decide. Hopefully they will have other discounts available to you with your situation to keep her healthy so you can have more fun times together!!
Post back what you learn and where you are from so others can learn about what is available to them so they can get their fur kids assistance!! Thanks!
PS...I have a red face...I didn't see that the numbers in your post ARE A NYC Zip Code...my apologies...not enough coffee yet this morning. So, YES!! The van coming to your area does offer some things to help folks on Medical Assistance care for their pet.
Here is the link I referenced:

Wishing your fur child a good visit and that they have discounts you can use to get low or free care!! I am off to get more coffee :) Thanks for your kind understanding!
NYC is very good with their animal services but not all are free.
Spay/neuter services are free with proof of assistance programs but other services are not free but offered at reduced prices.
The mobile service truck will not do any other type of treatment if the animal is not being spayed or neutered so be sure you understand this. Payment for other services must be paid at the first visit so you should talk to someone about the cost before you make an appointment.
They do have these same services at several locations but you will have to talk with them about a checkup as this service is most likely not free and may not be done at every location or even the mobile unit.
Contact them first so you will be prepared to pay any extra fees.
