Ingredients:
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/3 cup cornmeal
- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- 1/4 cup chicken broth, low sodium
- 1 egg
- 1/8 cup milk, low or fat free
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- Additional flour for rolling
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Add oil, broth, eggs and milk. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Whisk together wheat flour and cornmeal and add to the above.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Gather remaining dough and roll flat. Cut as many dog biscuits as you can
- Brush the egg wash onto each cookie.
- Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool completely on a wire rack.
- Storing: These chicken broth dog biscuits bake hard and will last 4 weeks in the refrigerator or 6 months in the freezer.

It is just beaten eggs brushed on the biscuits. An egg wash is common in baking and creates a hard and shiny crust on the baked good.
