I'm having an issue with my dog. He's a 9yr old Border Collie who had started to walk and lay down and wee. He has done it 4 - 5 times now in the past few days. Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening?

Please have the vet check this out. I have several Border Collie niece and nephew dogs and any time this happens they have either a urinary tract infection, kidney stones, or bladder stones. Although one had much more serious issues that started this way. She turned out to have a rare form of diabetes and will be on special meds for the rest of her life. With BCs especially, best to get the vet involved asap as if it is medical they respond well to treatment! Prayers for healing! Post back with an update!!!
The only thing you can do is take the dog to the vet. This could be a problem with the kidneys of the dog, the food the dog is eating, or another issue that really needs to be checked out.
Your Fur baby needs to be checked out by a Vet, He does not want to on his own. There is a underlying problem. Do what you can for him!
Your dog likely has a urinary tract infection. Get him to the Vet asap. If it spreads to the kidneys it can do a lot of damage. Your Vet should also rule out diabetes which can cause similar symptoms.
