I have a 1 year old puppy. We can take outside and she'll go potty, but once we bring her in the house she still goes to her corner where her puppy pad used to be about 20 minutes later and still pees and poops over there. She also does this at night while we're sleeping or if she's unattended by just leaving the room for a few minutes.
We are constantly catching her and telling her no and immediately taking her back outside, but she still isn't learning not to potty in the house. And if we let her outside by herself on her chain she won't go potty unless we go out with her, we also have her mother who she constantly follows and nips at and whines if she's separated from her. Her attention span is also like a squirrel could this be part of her problem?

She is confused. First she was trained to use the pad,and most likely praised when she was. Now, the pad is gone and she has to go outside. So suddenly, what was the right thing to do is the wrong thing.
I have one dog that does this to me. I finally had to attach him outside one night next to his dog house. After spending the night alone, he came back in the house and I haven't had any more problems with him.
I don't think your dog has separation issues because his mother is still there. I have 4 male dogs and 2 female dogs. I find that the male dogs are harder to teach to go outside to make their toilet.
You will need to be more strict with your dog. I find a rolled up newspaper works wonders. I don't hit the dog with the paper. However, I hit the floor next to the dog and then discipline the dog. After I take him out in the yard and put him on his chain.
I know it is hard to leave them on their chain at night. They cry and bark all night long. However, one or two nights will or should cure this problem.
