I let my dogs out every couple hours. One of my dogs is very good; she runs around poops and pees and then comes back. Now my other dog, we tried letting him run around, but he tries to run away and we don't have a fenced in yard so we hook him up to a lead. Anyways the moment I go back inside with the first dog or if I go to the other side of the house he barks like he is done when he hasn't pooped yet. He will pee outside for the most part, but not poop. I've tried everything to try and train him that he poops outside not inside, but he just refuses to poop outside. I don't think it's seperation anxiety or anything like that because he's not stuck up my butt 24/7 and doesn't freak out when I leave the house. If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated because I don't want this to lead to a life where he is either in his crate or outside all the time.

I've got a dog who will urinate outdoors, but comes right back in and drops a load on her under pad. She doesn't like doing this outside it appears, but I believe it's because she wants indoors right away and won't take the time to complete all her business. I have put her on a leash to hold her outside longer and have also walked her to where our other dogs do their drop loading and that helps especially when she realizes she's not going indoors until she's done and I repeat to her, "Go poo poo" and she cannot move outside of the area where the leash confines and she understands it is time to get down to business.
