I have an 8 month old Labrador and Spaniel mix neutered male. He was potty trained for a long time with no accidents indoors. Then it started about a month ago, he poops and pees every time we leave the house. Whether it's for a few hours or literally 20 minutes even though I take him out for a minimum of 20 minutes before leaving since he started doing this. He knows he is not supposed to because he hides with that guilty face when we come home to the smell of poop.
We previously house broke him by praising and using treats when he went outside. He used to hold it for 7 hours until we got home and now he doesn't even bother holding for 20 minutes. He only goes inside when we leave not when we are home. However, when we are home and we take him out he won't poop. He will hold it and instead just eat sticks outside. Then I have to constantly take him out repeatedly many times after to see if he will go then. We don't have a fenced in yard so I have to walk him out there on a leash every time. We have cleaned up poop twice a day, everyday, without fail for a month now and just finished talking about giving him to another family. Please help.

If he no longer is pooping on his walks it is for a reason. I'm not sure if he got scared one time, encountered another dog, or is just afraid to poop outside because of the change in weather. You might have another choice in this matter than to get him a kennel to stay in when you are not home. I personally don't like this idea, but you might have another choice in this.
When you take him out on his walks now stop praising him for pooping outside. No longer give him treats for this act. He has to learn that this is how it is and that pooping in your home isn't acceptable.
If you have a small area in your home, you can try to keep him in there. Normally dogs won't poop where they sleep.
This sounds like your (beautiful) dog has some anxiety issues when you leave him. I would talk this over with your Vet. There are some drug treatments that may help. You could also try wee wee pads so he has a place to go without getting into trouble. I would start with the Vet. Be sure he is getting good exercise time outside chasing a ball and running to burn off excess energy that can contribute to anxiety.
I think he got scared by a noise or some animal and thats why he doesnt want to go outside. If you have no fenced in yard you will have to watch him carefully in your home or condone him go the kitchen or bathroom when you are not home
