My dog is 9 years old and has started wetting when she is lying down comfortably/sleeping. I am unsure if it's pee or what, it is clear. She has never done this before.

Aging dogs can have incontinence issues. She could also have a urinary tract infection. Make an appointment to the vet.
A stroke unfortunately made my mother's dog this. It wasn't long before she had a major stroke. Watch dogs sense of balance, breathing, and if the dog presents itself confused . By confused I mean if you go to say that dogs name and it looks the opposite direction of which you are calling the animals name. Also seemed to make the dog grumpy and in general put off
Hi,
This could have various causes. Sometimes there are harmone issues if the dog is female and has been spayed. There could be other reasons as well. I would take her in for a check up. If you want to, you can put wax paper down on her bed, and let her urinate on the wax paper. Then put the wax paper in a plastic zip lock bag and take it in for examination to see if your dog has a urinary tract infection.
Blessings,
Robyn
Any changes like this that make you go hmmmm should be brought to the vet's attention. Prayers and healing thoughts for the pup. Post back what you learn!!
There are many causes for this. It can just be old age approaching. Have her checked out by your Vet and get some ideas on how to best manage it. There are medications for it.
