Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - dog pulling on towel toyAny dog who likes to chew will love this toy. It's tough and durable and easy to make from old cotton dish towels. No sewing involved, just cutting, plaiting, and tying.

Supplies:

  • 3 old dish towels (tea towels)
  • scissors
Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - old dish towels
 

Steps:

  1. Trim the hems from the long edges of each dish towel.
    2. Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - trim the hems from the long sides
     
  2. Roll up each towel from the cut edge.
    3. Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - begin rolling up tightly from the trimmed ends
     
  3. Make the rolls as tight as you can.
    4. Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - three rolled towels
     
  4. Hold the rolls at one end.
    5. Dog Toy from Old Dish Towels - gather the rolled ends of the towels
     
  5. Tie the ends together tightly with one of the trimmed hems.

  6. Make a firm plait.

  7. Tie the rolls together at the other end.

Please do not allow your pet to play with this unattended!! I had a co-worker whose dog chewed up & swallowed part of a towel (unbeknown to the owner at the time).

By the time the very sick dog was finally diagnosed it was too late & the dog couldn't be saved. You would be amazed at what dogs will swallow!!
