Do you know any quilters? Perhaps consider contacting the rotary club to inquire about their women's group activities? Rotary wives here make quilts for people in distress and welcome any fabric donations.
Rose is right. There are a lot of organizations that do homeless work. You could also donate to the local senior citizen center. I hope that helps.
Check in your area for the local Project Linus group. They make blankets, quilts, etc. for children in hospitals, in disaster areas, for children of deceased soldiers, for homeless children.
