You can donate it to Goodwill or a quilt guild. Here is a guild locator:

If it's the right type of fabric I could take it off your hands for my sewing projects and classes. I'm 20 miles away.

Try calling the churches to see if they have ladies quilting group. also, call the nursing homes. Most here take it for their residents to sew or they pass it to various groups who make lap robes for them
Put an ad in Freecycle or Craigslist. Leave it on your porch and someone will pick it up.
I would love to see you donate it to one of the Hospice Thrift Stores in your area. This is a wonderful organization that does a lot of good all over the United States.
Check online to see if there is a Project Linus chapter in your area. They accept donated yarn, fabric, etc. to make quilts, blankets, afghans for children in the hospital or have other needs (we make blankets for homeless children in our area for example)
Trying looking for your local branch of the American Sewing Guild.
They will make sure it gets put ot good use.
I donated hundreds of yards of fabric to The Linus Project in my area. They make quilts and give them to sick children. Check it for your area
