I would contact NYCHA (New York City Housing Authority.) They have programs and would love to have these to distribute. You can also contact Boys and Girls Clubs.

Here is some great information who you can call.

1. DSNY - school donation is always looking for sports equipment new and used. You can donate and the school around NY receive the donations. www1.nyc.gov/.../donate.shtml

2. Supporting our youth is another great place to donate to the school and the kids. You can find out more information on how you can donate these sports bags. I am not sure they will come and pick them up, but you can ask. www.nbcnewyork.com/.../Supporting-Our-Schools-Where-to-Drop...
3. This is a great organization called Play It Forward and they will come and pick up all those sports bags of yours. I would call them first. Here is the information on this: www.letsplayitforward.org/

You can drop them off at any local thrift shop.

Step 3
You can also contact Salvation Army, or AmVets or any pick-up service. They will also leave you a tax write-off paper.
