Double check all your receipts when you eat out. First check them to make sure they are correct. Second, check them for coupons and surveys and internet addresses to sign up for more coupons. In the past 2 months, out of the 8 times or so that I have eaten at a fast food place, I have had part of my meal free because of checking my receipts.
Subway is a good example. If you go online and do the quick survey, inserting your receipt information, they will email you a coupon for free items. Hardees and McDonalds do similar part of the time, as well as some Sonic restaurants. My job has me traveling once a week and this has saved me a lot of money.

Absolutely, check your receipts. We went to the ocean over Thanksgiving and went to a restaurant buffet that offered a discount for early bird diners, senior discount, and children's prices. There were 5 of us, two adults, one senior and 2 children. When the bill arrived we were charged full price for all five of us including the children. It made quite a difference in the bill. We had it corrected and will continue to eat there but will surely doublecheck the bill.
IHOP has a free short stack of pancakes for doing their phone survey within 3 days!
I recently tried to pay for a subway sandwich and was told the card was declined. When I tried it again, it went through. I always check my bank on line each night to enter into my ledger.
They charged me twice. It took me a week to get it right. I will go back but only with cash.
