How do you unstop a clogged drain line?
By Doug Zepp from Pensacola, FL
This is what we do for our kitchen/bath sink drains. First we use a plunger to loosen the clog enough to get the water to drain, then we pour 1/2 a box of baking soda in the drain, followed by white distilled vinegar. I've never measured out the amount of vinegar I've used, but know it is 1/4 of a large bottle. Wait 15 minutes and add another splash of vinegar followed by running very hot water for 5 minutes. It might be roots from nearby trees invading the sewer line. Drano and the like aren't likely to dissolve the roots so you'd need mechanical help. I'm sorry for your troubles. (11/28/2009)
