Dryer Sheets for Removing Tar

My husband is a roofer and came home with tar on his pants, which I did not notice. Needless to say, I googled "how to get tar out of my dryer." I found that using WD40 should work. I tried a small area and it did work BUT it is highly flammable, so I opted to try something else. I wet several dryer sheets and went to town. Worked amazingly! I then washed the inside of the dryer with hot soapy water. Wala!
