Duck Laying Eggs But Not Sitting on Them?

I have 2 males ducks and 2 females. One of the females is laying eggs, but not sitting on them. I don't know which one. My question is that how do I make a duck get broody? I don't have an incubator and here the weather is 44 to 48. What can I do?

She will start sitting on them when she lays the last one.

I have one male and one female Peking ducks, they roam around freely we have a 4-1/2 pound. The male mount her three or more times a day. She had two nest last year that she laid and sitting on them until she threw them all out. This year she is laying again in a big bush of old trees that was cut down two years ago.

Right now she has about 18 eggs or more eggs I can't really tell. Its been about two weeks now. When should she should start sitting. Is the first one she laid still good. The male duck is still mounting her two or more time a day. Will these egg hatch and how long can they stay without her sitting on them.

She will sit on her own after the last egg of her clutch is laid. Don't interfer with the process or move the eggs--it will only confuse her and may make her not sit at all.

But, they don't sit until after the last one is laid--sometimes its 2 weeks or more, depending on how many she is laying.

I have a male and a female Muscovy, I understand they only start sitting on the nest when the last egg is laid. She has laid 7 sofar, but they are in the open and not protected from the elements, it has been raining alot, will the eggs still hatch when she starts sitting on them.

When can i expect to see her sitting on them, more or less, timewise. Thanks a lot. This is my first pair. So any info welcome! Thanks

do you have a male or other ducks? do they like to stay close together? if so, then she probably doesen"t want to be far from her friends even she needs to sit on the eggs.

I believe she will start nesting when she decides she has the number of eggs to her liking. Please do not interfere or she may not nest and you will miss out on all those lovely little babies!

I am having the same problem. My Welsh Harlequin just started laying but she lays all her eggs in completely different spots. She gets locked up at night with our Drake, but she will never lay in the same spot as her other eggs. I am not sure what to do with the old eggs.
