Here are the steps to follow.
- Test your carpet first. Make sure that you carpet won't be destroyed when removing the tape residue.
- You will use WD-40 on the carpet. This is what you need to test before applying this to the residue.
- Spay a small amount on the carpet in an area that won't be seen. Let it sit for 10 minutes and look at how it is reacting to the carpet. If the carpet changes colors or frays this is not a good product to use. Start scraping when the carpet is still wet.
- Now it is time to clean the carpet. Goo Gone is excellent for cleaning your carpet. Use this on the area to clean the carpet. Follow the directions on the bottle.
- Let the carpet dry and inspect the carpet.
- If this is fine spray the area with WD-40 and leave it sit for 30 minutes.
- Use a plastic knife or paint scraper and start scraping the reside left fome the tape.
