The other day quite by accident I came across this easy way to get coffee stains out of my cups. Normally I use baking soda and rub the stains out, but it was all gone. The cups also had some lime deposits on them so I thought I'd use vinegar to remove those and found I only had apple cider vinegar. I didn't want to cool my dish water so I heated a cup of apple cider vinegar in the microwave for 2 minutes. I then added it to my dish water and let the cups sit a few minutes and the coffee stains wiped right out with no scrubbing.

This sounds like a super inexpensive and easy way to remove stains. Great idea, I will be trying this, thanks for the tip! :)
You've got my vote! :)
I'll have to try this tip.
Thank you... I will try that.
I do the same but use a Tbsp. of bleach in the cup of water. Cleans them so well they look like new!
Don't drink coffee, but will try it with tea. Thanks.
Just cut a small piece of a Mr. Clean Eraser (store brands work, too), wet it, & rub around the cup. Removes both coffee & tea stains...no scrubbing.
Oh those coffee rings in the cup we see when we're done with our cup of coffee. Sort of like a tree with the rings around it to determine it's age. The coffee rings show how many times we stopped and started again, to drink it, that is.
I always use Comet cleanser to wipe those out before I place the cups into the dishwasher. The coffee (depending on the cup) usually makes those stain rings because the cup is porous, sort of like our sinks and how foods can stain them. As soon as the cleanser touches the "stain rings" they lift right out.
Although I always clean out my tea mugs I read once that in some places people consider all those stains as "seasoning the mug" like you do a cast iron skillet!
At work I use sugar, works perfect.
I was cleaning some really nasty cups in the breakroom at work. None of the usual kitchen items(vinegar, baking soda, etc.) Had some clorox wet wipes.
I use a little baking soda on the stain directly.
