Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 239 Posts Simple and sophisticated, this bookmark is so easy to make and will make a nice addition if you are giving a book as a gift.
Total Time: 15 minutes
Supplies:
- wide lace braid, about half an inch longer than you need your bookmark to be
- narrow lace braid, long enough to tie a bow
- 2 beads with large holes
- scissors
- white (PVA) glue
Steps:
- Apply white glue to each end of the wide lace to prevent fraying. The glue will dry clear. While the glue is still wet, turn up a hem to neaten it off.
- Wrap the narrow lace around the wide lace near one end and tie a tight single knot.
- Then tie it into a bow.
- Pull it and tweak it to make it small and neat. If you have trouble making it lie flat, there are plenty of websites, including Thriftyfun, with instructions for making a perfect bow.
- Thread one of the beads onto one end of the narrow lace.
- Knot it, trim it, and apply glue to secure it.
- Repeat with the other end of the narrow lace.
- Make sure the glue has dried thoroughly before using your bookmark.
