Below is a customer response I found on a customer review site:
"E message fixed
We had the same problem. Our controller display just said "E". for us it meant that the controller cord was disconnected from the mattress pad at the foot of the bed. Try that."

The site also had many negative reviews about Biddeford customer service:

We appreciate the assistance with this - ours displayed "E" as well and it was the connection on the mattress being not plugged in all of the way.

I took your suggestion and it cleared the "E" Code on my Biddleford Heated Blanket. It was not obvious that it was disconnected so I would not noticed it without closely examining it.

Why is my Biddeford TC1280-D Mattress Warmer showing an E in the Regulator---It is plugged in at the end of the blanket and the outlet

January 10, 20190 found this helpful

YAY!! I had unplugged at outlet, but hadn't checked carefully that the plug to the unit was still plugged in securely to the mattress pad. Out just a little and pushed in securely, GENIUS! I have loved using this for a couple of years; thought my side quite working, was sad.

I'm so happy to be snuggly warm again. Its so perfect for when you can't warm your feet and legs up at night. So relieved.

Test if connections are being made between 4 wire plug and blanket 4 pin connector. Open controller and pop cover on blanket connector. Plug in 4 wire plug and use ohmeter between each controller solder joint to each blanket connector solder joint.

My Biddeford electric blanket was showing E on one control. Both sides were securely plugged in at the foot of the bed. I unplugged them there and reattached. They then both displayed E. So I unplugged both from wall outlet. Replugged them in. That fixed the problem. They both displayed 4, and let me adjust temperature.

Connection was not my blankets issue either. Unplug it. Lay it out flat. Plug it back in. Its a safety feature to prevent the blanket from overheating. (This information was on the back of my controller - found this thread first).

I also unplugged mine from the surge protector as well before plugging them both back in. I keep mine on the surge protector because our electric service company provider (PG&E) has surges and frequent outages in our area. I protect it because I need the heat on my arthritis for my knees and hips.

I just got new mattress cover and have an E on one side. I also noticed a store price tag on the bag. I think someone bought it, found this problem, returned it to the store, the store returned it to Biddeford, and they then sent it on to me. Not a happy camper. Tried unplugging, plugging back in, turning plug, everything. Nothing works.

Way does one side of my electric blanket show an E

January 15, 20190 found this helpful

Just replug it in at the bed and the wall if it will not go away then you have got something broken somewhere connection wise. Try switching the controllers from left to right and see if the problem follows if it doesn't follow then something's wrong with the blanket. If it does follow something's wrong with the controller.

You have left this feedback on ThriftyFun, an online frugal living resource. We have no affiliation with the manufacturer so we don't really have a way to assist you with this.

Here is the Biddeford contact information. I would send them a message directly. I hope they can help.

January 2022 Biddeford replaced the TC16B0 control for the twin, heated mattress cover. Set it up approx a week ago and pad was heating until today.
Ridiculous as the original control wouldnt even light up. Dead out of the package.

Also, in same call with their customer service, I reported that the TC13B1-T controller on the throw was flashing and no heat from the throw blanket.

That was also replaced and Ill be pulling out the throw tonight and testing the controller to determine if it operates.

East coast of US well below freezing at night and depending on these products to stay warm and comfortable.
Controller has the E error code.

I've read posts going back to 2015 regarding the "E" on Biddeford electric mattress pad. Amusing how some people feel the problem was resolved by plugging the cord back in (under the mattress pad). I'm on my 3rd Biddeford E mattress pad. Sorry to say, plugging the cord back in is only a temporary fix. Over the course of time, you'll have to plug it back in (or unplug it and re-plug it back in) nearly every night once the "E" starts appearing. This is an ongoing issue with Biddeford E mattress pads. The design is horrible. Every one of my Biddeford E mattress pads has had the exact same problem. It's tiring having to reconnect the cord every night to get it to work. I'm at a point where I think I'll just tear it apart myself and rebuild it so it works. Horrible design. If you think you've solved the problem, just wait. It'll get worse and get very frustrating, unless you don't mind tearing your bed sheets apart every night to get the the plug and reconnect it. Typically, this problem starts to occur within a year of purchasing the pad. If anyone has a better electric mattress pad other than Biddeford, please inform me.

My electric heating pad was slightly unplugged, at the foot of the bed, and firmly plugging it in, worked for me!

February 4, 20230 found this helpful

Ive been calling Biddefords customer service daily for 2 weeks now, seeking an answer to this very problem, letting it ring for 45 minutes on one of those calls before giving up.
Also got Biddefords contact info online, ready to write a scathing letter, when it struct me to simply ask siri what the E stands for. Duh!
The irony is that Id already checked the connections & failed to notice the plug into the blanket was ever so slightly loose. (So those folks who are still getting the E might want to double check.)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Warm again, just in time to protect from our 20 degree weather.
