Below is a customer response I found on a customer review site:
"E message fixed
We had the same problem. Our controller display just said "E". for us it meant that the controller cord was disconnected from the mattress pad at the foot of the bed. Try that."
The site also had many negative reviews about Biddeford customer service:
www.reviewstalk.com/
We appreciate the assistance with this - ours displayed "E" as well and it was the connection on the mattress being not plugged in all of the way.
This ended up being the problem with mine, thank you so much! The cold was killing me
That worked for me too! Thank you so much!
That helped. Pushing in the cords replaced the E with numbers. Thanks
I made sure it was plugged in and still shows an E
So does mine still show the E. I can turn on a number and before five minutes its back to E. again.
Worked for mine! Said E, searched why came across this thread and pushed the plug in where it came loose. Happy camper now!
Thanks so much for the answer to this problem. Mine has been showing a Code E for a couple of nights with no heat. I decided to Google the problem and found this comment.
The awful E code. I untangled the blapert
I turned it off then on and it worked
I took your suggestion and it cleared the "E" Code on my Biddleford Heated Blanket. It was not obvious that it was disconnected so I would not noticed it without closely examining it.
I can not get the "E" code go away. Tried plugging and switching sides, with no results. Please help. I live in New England.
I've tried everything you said mine is still not working unplugged it plugged it left it on for a couple hours I don't know what else to do I'm very frustrated one side works one side doesn't
I turned the plug over and put it back in and no E!
If it says E make sure the cord is all the way in and its turned the right way
I turned it off and then turned it back on and now it works. Thank u!
SAME and I dont get enough iron as it is so I ALWAYS freeze and I dont know what to do!
I have a Beautyrest electric blanket and when I turn it on it only shows sn "E". I looked at the comments and some of them said to be sure the blanket connection was hooked up OK.
worked for me too ... just needed more strength!
What would be wrong with my blanket when it's plugged in right but the controller where it has rhe up && down arrow buttons && the on && off button just black?? It won't turn on at all?
Thank you for the tip. That was the issue with ours. Fixed now.
Why is my Biddeford TC1280-D Mattress Warmer showing an E in the Regulator---It is plugged in at the end of the blanket and the outlet
YAY!! I had unplugged at outlet, but hadn't checked carefully that the plug to the unit was still plugged in securely to the mattress pad. Out just a little and pushed in securely, GENIUS! I have loved using this for a couple of years; thought my side quite working, was sad.
Mind is plugged in E showing
Got it Christmas and its not working
Ive tried everything that was suggested. It still shows E1. So frustrating!!!
Thank you! This just helped me! I unplugged my blanket then replugged and turned it on! Works like a charm:)
Test if connections are being made between 4 wire plug and blanket 4 pin connector. Open controller and pop cover on blanket connector. Plug in 4 wire plug and use ohmeter between each controller solder joint to each blanket connector solder joint.
I kept plugging and unplugging at foot of bed! Finally I turned control off and back on and THEN the E went away.
Thank you, this answered my E problem. Now I have heat back on in my blanket. That makes all the difference on these cold nights. Thanks again. Wanda
Mine still showed the E after I checked led the plug in too then I pulled the cord from under the mattress and then it came back with numbers. It must have been twisted. It is working fine now
my new blanket shows the letter E and I checked the connection at the bottom of the blanket. This blanket is less than one week old!!!!!!!!
Wow I don't want to seem dumb but I checked the connection and you were right it was disconnected, thank you!
The two wires coming out each side of the recepter of the plug, move them around it connects, not connection of plug, sorry ass connection of two small wire coming out each side at top of reciever plug. To me sounds like bad unreachable connection.hope we dont fry but moving them in and out worked.
Nothing is working to fix mine either.. checked plugs connections all of it and I'm still FREEZING with that stupid E
Wonderful! That fixed tthe "E" for me! It looked plugged in but I unplugged it and plugged it again. Problem solved!
Thank u ALL! I had the same problem tonight! So glad I googled it and found this site. Its fixed! Now back to a cozy WARMER sleep! Zzzzz
this worked for me! i was originally very concerned because i had tried previously to tighten it but it didnt seem to move. i just had to wiggle it in and it worked. no more e!
My controller said "E" I checked the connection & so far it worked.
After reconnecting the cord to the blanket connection.Turn the blanket off then turn the blanket back on. My blanket is working now.
Mine display E and all cords are plugged in. Sometimes I can unplug at the blanket almost like a reset and it will work. Not a fix all though. Go through it every night
My Biddeford electric blanket was showing E on one control. Both sides were securely plugged in at the foot of the bed. I unplugged them there and reattached. They then both displayed E. So I unplugged both from wall outlet. Replugged them in. That fixed the problem. They both displayed 4, and let me adjust temperature.
Mine did that too. I changed the number, and it no longer did that.
Connection was not my blankets issue either. Unplug it. Lay it out flat. Plug it back in. Its a safety feature to prevent the blanket from overheating. (This information was on the back of my controller - found this thread first).
Unplug it, turn the plug 180 degrees then plug it back in.
I did the same thing and working fine now. Rockwall Texas
Thanks!
Mine shows E on one side and won't turn off the E remains on. Tried plugging and unplugging and not working.
Cant tell you how happy I am for this help, my blanket has two controls and the E showed up on my one control and I has resigned myself of going to store and buying another blanket because I cant stand to be cold i unpluged my blanket and repluged it back in and the E went away!!!yay thank you it seemed the plug wasnt tight enough and had to be pushed in gurther
Mine too .. and I keep replacing these pads .. they are expensive and not lasting very long at all
.. frustraated
I can not get the E code to go away. Tried plugging and switching sides, with no results. Please help. I live in Canada & need it for these cold winter nights
Ohmygoodness. That was it, I just needed to push the cord in. Thank you!
I also unplugged mine from the surge protector as well before plugging them both back in. I keep mine on the surge protector because our electric service company provider (PG&E) has surges and frequent outages in our area. I protect it because I need the heat on my arthritis for my knees and hips.
mine too
thank you !!!
Mys to thanks
Unplug everything from the blanket and the wall. Wait a bit, put it all back together. It worked for me.
bedford blanket does not work. is either the blanket or the control. how do i find out????
I put the other control on that side because I did not use the other one. It does the same. I don't like digital. Not worth what you pay for them. It still shows E.
I got a error code E4 non one side of electric blanket
Thank you for your comment Now my problem is solved!!! My cord was disconnected from the heated mattress pad!! ;))
Have u ever gotten an answer to your question? I have the E4 error now.
My blanket control has the E display. How do I fix it?
How do I fix it
I still have the problem after checking plugs my over blanket still showing E. Please help. Joy
My controller shows an "E". I called the Customer Service number. After answering questions about the problem, I was asked to leave a message--I gave my name and telephone number--three days and have not received any response from them. I have a Biltmore warming blanket. The connection to the blanket is secure.
You con go to the plug in site on the blanket and try plugging it in the other way.
we have model #BST.CONT.05.CD.TK One control shows E and other control has nothing on it.any ideas.Tom
It was fixed. I unplugged and plugged it back. It was connection. Thanks!
Pushing in the connector Worked for me! Also, I have had good experiences with Biddeford customer service, they replaced my heated bed cover a few months ago under the 5 year warranty.
Thank you for helping me to get the control back to working. I plugged it in all of the way and the E disappeared. So happy as I have been freezing without it!!
I just got new mattress cover and have an E on one side. I also noticed a store price tag on the bag. I think someone bought it, found this problem, returned it to the store, the store returned it to Biddeford, and they then sent it on to me. Not a happy camper. Tried unplugging, plugging back in, turning plug, everything. Nothing works.
Just replug it in at the bed and the wall if it will not go away then you have got something broken somewhere connection wise. Try switching the controllers from left to right and see if the problem follows if it doesn't follow then something's wrong with the blanket. If it does follow something's wrong with the controller.
My sons wasnt unplugged at either plug - the wall or the blanket.I had to unplug at the blanket and plug it back in and it took the E away.
There is apparently a problem with this mattress pad. Too many complaining about the same problem, the E (error code). It's strange that it is only on one side. I may try to return mine and get a different brand.
This did not solve the problem for me
Make sure the cord is connected to the blanket. If that doesnt work. Lay the blanket flat. Unplug it from the power source. Wait a few seconds and plug it back in.

I was getting the E code on my heated mattress pad. I unplugged from the pad, and plugged the plug back in, making sure it was completely pushed in, and the E code went away . The heat was on.
It may appear your connection is good at bed
But push until you see zero gap between connectors
Why is my blanket setting on E and what needs to be done to fix it!
Thank you!!
Reseated the connection at the other end of the blanket...worked like a charm. Thanks!
I had the same error message I unplugged it and plugged it back up and checked the plug but still wouldnt work got mad punched the control box an it now works haha sometimes violence is the simple fix

Here is the Biddeford contact information. I would send them a message directly. I hope they can help.
January 2022 Biddeford replaced the TC16B0 control for the twin, heated mattress cover. Set it up approx a week ago and pad was heating until today.
Ridiculous as the original control wouldnt even light up. Dead out of the package.
Also, in same call with their customer service, I reported that the TC13B1-T controller on the throw was flashing and no heat from the throw blanket.
That was also replaced and Ill be pulling out the throw tonight and testing the controller to determine if it operates.
East coast of US well below freezing at night and depending on these products to stay warm and comfortable.
Controller has the E error code.
I've read posts going back to 2015 regarding the "E" on Biddeford electric mattress pad. Amusing how some people feel the problem was resolved by plugging the cord back in (under the mattress pad). I'm on my 3rd Biddeford E mattress pad. Sorry to say, plugging the cord back in is only a temporary fix. Over the course of time, you'll have to plug it back in (or unplug it and re-plug it back in) nearly every night once the "E" starts appearing. This is an ongoing issue with Biddeford E mattress pads. The design is horrible. Every one of my Biddeford E mattress pads has had the exact same problem. It's tiring having to reconnect the cord every night to get it to work. I'm at a point where I think I'll just tear it apart myself and rebuild it so it works. Horrible design. If you think you've solved the problem, just wait. It'll get worse and get very frustrating, unless you don't mind tearing your bed sheets apart every night to get the the plug and reconnect it. Typically, this problem starts to occur within a year of purchasing the pad. If anyone has a better electric mattress pad other than Biddeford, please inform me.
My electric heating pad was slightly unplugged, at the foot of the bed, and firmly plugging it in, worked for me!
Ive been calling Biddefords customer service daily for 2 weeks now, seeking an answer to this very problem, letting it ring for 45 minutes on one of those calls before giving up.
Also got Biddefords contact info online, ready to write a scathing letter, when it struct me to simply ask siri what the E stands for. Duh!
The irony is that Id already checked the connections & failed to notice the plug into the blanket was ever so slightly loose. (So those folks who are still getting the E might want to double check.)
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Warm again, just in time to protect from our 20 degree weather.
