Electric Dryer Connection Problems?

The socket to my dryer show 230 volts and 2x 120 volts, but on the back of the dryer it shows only 115 instead of 230 and only 1x120. I have already replaced the cable to no effect. Can the socket be defective?

Clothes dryers run off of 2 breakers in your electrical box. Have you checked the breaker box? One of the breakers could be tripped.

Here is a website that is run by an electrician: ask-the-electrician.com/.../

It seems that these repairs are pretty advanced. If resettting the circuit breaker didn't help, you may be better off calling an electrician.
