When I plug anything into the electrical outlet in the wall that is in my daughter's room her light and closet light goes off and will not come back on until I unplug what is in the wall.

As I agree that a trained electrician should do the repair work. It sounds as if a wire problem is at fault. This usually happens in the outlet itself where a neutral wire has come loose or it is possibly having a ground issue when you plug anything in. I would not use this outlet until someone can look at it. Using it could cause an spark in the wall between touching or loose wires, in turn causing a fire.
