I live in Luzerne County Pennsylvania and I'm disabled and need electrical work done, but am on a low income. I noticed other counties in Pennsylvania have home repair assistance, but see none for our county. Would you know of any programs that I could take advantage of in my county?

How much work do you need done, and if it is a large amount, you should have had it done in small increments. Also is it a matter of necessity or for something that you want in the line of entertainment? There is a nationwide government organization that will help elderly and disabled people with home repairs. It has different names in different states and even in different cities within a state.
You will have to do some research to find it because I only know about it by word of mouth. Whether or not they can help you will depend on the type of electrical work you need done and whether or not what you consider to be a disability is actually a disability. There is also a waiting list and it does depend on income.
I know of some disabled people that work enough hours that they earn $900 a month and there is a way that they can still keep their medicaid. When people own a home they should budget a certain amount every month for repairs that might be needed. You can also call 211, it is a nationwide clearing house that has a list of organizations that will help people with various things, depending on your locality.
