I replaced the baseboard heater thermostat. It works fine, however the wall outlet under it blew, stopped working, and then the flood gates opened. The hall light switch across from the room with the outlet started turning on ceiling fan in bedroom next to blown outlet room and hall light wouldn't go on without fan switch being on, and then stopped working altogether. Confusing? We replaced the outlet. There is still power coming in. We took the fan down and put ceiling light in and still nothing works. Help.

Im thinking the new baseboard heating thermostat idea more wattage than the old one did and is now causing problems.
Hi,
This is from grounded short and it is causing the electricity to go different places. It is very important to get an electrician out to take care of this before it causes the threat of a fire.
Blessings,
Robyn
Hi,
This is a grounded short, and it is important to get an electrician out to fix this before it starts a fire. If you smell anything like plastic burning, then get out of the house and call the fire department.
