I am a senior citizen and I just moved into this house and some of the plug ins do not work. I don't have lights in certain rooms and I need help getting these chores taken care of. I tried to ask for an electrician, but they are too high. Can you help me find help?

To provide you with assistance locating help, one would need your residential area. I would look online for a local handyman or jack of all trades, and perhaps get low cost work completed. It doesn't take long to put in another electric outlet, but power must be shut off first to install. Have you thought of posting an ad in your local newspaper for such help? Someone would love making extra money within their own vicinity. Try posting specified help on bulletin boards at laundromats, etc and leave your phone no. Hope all these suggestions merits you with your need met. Be safe; if you don't know this person, always have someone with you while the work is getting done.
I can think of several services in my area that is offered. Seniors for Seniors is one of them. There is probably a Health and Senior Service agency you could contact to see if they could point you in the right direction.
Good Luck!
You can contact Habitat for Humanity or HUD.org
You state that you are a senior citizen but just being a senior may not qualify you for free assistance with your problem. If you are on a government assisted program (Medicaid, food stamps) getting help will be easier as a lot of your information will already be on file.
Also, you do not say if you are buying or renting/leasing.
If renting, you should contact your landlord for help as this is an issue they should fix.
If buying, and you are considered a low income senior citizen then you may be able to contact Habitat for Humanity for help with repairs.
Electrical work should not be done by just any 'handyman' as there may be serious problems with wiring and not just the outlets needing replacing.
Electrical work requires a licensed person to do the work or a helper and inspection/approval by the licensed person and they will have to acquire permits before doing the work. All of this is expensive and, even if approved, you may be placed on a waiting list.
You can Google house repairs for low income senior with your zip code and you should find several sites to check out.
You will have lots of forms to complete; providing a lot of personal information as these agencies all go through an investigation process before they will respond to your assistance request.

You don't say where you are located or if you own (so I will assume you own the place you moved into) so I will offer a few general suggestions for a new home owner.
If you are the owner, and you purchased from a realtor, please talk to the realtor and tell them of the issues and see if they can get them resolved for you. Houses are supposed to pass full inspections prior to move in so these issues should have been resolved prior to your moving in to it.
If you did not use a realtor, talk to the person you purchased form and find out why the issues were not fixed prior to move in. Unless your contract stated otherwise, repairs like this should all be made prior to closing.
Post back with an update. Prayers for a easy resolution through the seller.
First off do you own the home? From what you are saying you just moved into the home? If this is a rental then the landloard will need to do the repairs for the home for you. If you actually own this home and have bought the house then you should go back to the realitor and make sure the inspection showed the house had faulty wiring and parts of the home did not have electricity.
If you own the home then you can contact HUD in your area and explain the problem to them. They can help you out and even offer free assistance or a very low-interest loan.
