I was told it is a European trunk. I am looking for more info on it. Thank you!

I think this is a Civil War era trunk (circa 1870). Due to the need for metal and leather in that period, little tin was used in the manufacture of trunks, the surface was originally covered with paper. Many of these trunks were banded with metal.

I don't know the size of your trunk.
The more I think, the more I am sure that you have a Civil War era trunk. The fact that originally the surface was covered with paper is the reason for such a good state of the wood outside of your trunk.
The price depends on the size of the suitcase and its condition $ 495-1900 www.etsy.com/

I would look for a manufacturers mark inside, underneath, or maybe on the lock. It will give you something to start your research with.
It is very difficult to provide information on old/antique/vintage trunks but especially difficult with a trunk like this one that has almost nothing that is 'special' or note worthy. It is pretty much just a plain old wooden trunk that could have been hand made at anytime in the past 100 years. Also, from the pictures it appears to be in less than good condition and would probably not appeal to anyone except to use as a tool box or maybe a college student that wanted it to store 'stuff' and use as a table.
It could be European but I not sure there is anything about it that an appraiser could attribute to that being true as plain trunks like this were made all over the world - probably many of the older trunks were made in Europe.
Here are a couple of links that may provide more information.
