I can easily see why you are concerned as that is a lot of browned area.
I would do this as soon as you can just in case it is something that needs attention now.

Winter time can cause the trees damage and cause them to die.
Step 2
Some trees brown and look sickly after winter.
Step 3
They will come back after spring.
Where are you located? It could be too cold or getting too much water.
