This garland can be hung as a backdrop for parties, hung in a nursery, along the stairs, mantel, and so forth. It is very easy to make and makes a nice decorative piece that doesn't look cheap!
Total Time: 1-2 hours
Supplies:
- fabric
- scissors or rotary cutter
- twine or thin rope
Steps:
- Gather the fabric you want to use. I had a couple of left over pieces of solid colored fabric that I decided to use for making a garland for an upcoming birthday backdrop. The colors I used are pastel purple, green, yellow, white, and pink.
- There is no right or wrong length for the garland tassels (since it is totally up to you!) For me I cut the yard in half and then at the bottom of the fabric I cut 1" for a head start to ripping the fabric. Repeat this process and rip until you have all your strips ready to assemble for the garland.
- Use a strong twine to tie knots of each strand of fabric to make the tassel.
- Continue until you have the garland length you would like! The garland will look nice hung up in the background or in a nursery. You can use nice patterned fabrics too if you want.

I love ripped fabric. I pressed and did this for my bathroom and it turned out great. For other ideas, click on here and prepare to be blown away.
