I have a White sewing machine and the feed dogs have dropped down and won't advance the material. Please help. I'm mid piecing on 3 quilts.
Most machines have a switch for dropping the feed-dog. Yours seems to be stuck. Try a general clean with compressed air, and then apply a little oil.
There may be a feed dog lever in front of the bobbin where the attachable piece in front that extends the sewing area. You cacan also raise and drop your pressure foot and roll the wheel towards you to see if it engages your dog feet. Hope you get it!

The feed dogs on my wife's Singer 6268 do not feed the material. I can see that the feed dogs do not move up or down with the foot feed down and turning the the knob to move the needle up and down. Could this have to do with a gear? I don't know if I should open the bottom of the case to see if something is slipping.
A lot of times the problem is thead inside the machine that is blocking the feed dog from moving correctly It would not be too hard to open this up and clean it out. while you are at it give it a good oiling to help the machine.
I have a Brother Odyssey 8060 sewing machine. While the feed dogs move back and forth and go up they don't seem to lower or feed the fabric through while sewing. I have cleaned it out and removed the needle plate to make sure no dust or thread and fabric were stuck.
Help.
This sounds like the pressure food that holds the fabric in place is not lowering down all the way and there is not enough pressure on the feed dog to feed the fabric through. I would redo the pressure food and check this area. There are times when you think it is right but you do it again and the machine will start feeding the fabric again.
I'm using a Merrit sewing machine. I'm facing a problem with the dog feet in my machine. It's getting loosened and the cloth material is not moving while stitching.
Kindly help me to overcome this. You can tighten the screws to fix this
I have a New Home sewing machine model 672. It will not advance the material. I can sew by doing it by hand. The saw tooth advancing plate feels dull. I wonder if it should have sharper edges? Being a mechanical engineer, I looked over the advancing mechanism and it appears to be fine. I cannot find any wear on any other part.
You may have a piece of fabric or thread stuck underneath. Look carefully and clean it out.
