Our family loved watching him and will miss seeing him and his little family on TV. I liked that he was a nature lover and watched out for the environment. The thing with the baby was a simple mistake on his part and I don't feel any harm was done and that he learned from the incident. I could tell he loved his wife and family. My 15 year old son entered my room last evening somber and upset. He had been thinking about Steve and all he could say to me was " It really stinks mom, you know, it really stinks that Steve died...he was awesome, just really cool...!"
As a single mom, Steve was the male figure in our home as my son and I religiously viewed his show together. I still cannot think of a more wonderful example of gentle strength and compassion for my son to admire and learn from...and that he has.
Our warmest, heartfelt compassion is being sent from us to all in Steve's family, his friends and associates as well. I know all were profoundly moved by the life of this man and deeply pained by his death. We will never forget you. (09/07/2006)

God gave Steve the courage to "subdue" the animals of the earth until it was Steve's time to leave us.
Steve took every opportunity to become familiar with
God's Creation, to fulfill Steve's destiny and perhaps His Purpose? We will all know one day, (and it looks like it will be sooner than later). May God use this tragedy to draw humans closer to each other and to Himself, the Creator of Heaven and Earth and all that is within it. The Holy Scriptures say that one day there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth, that there will be NO wildness or fear in the animals or humans, and that no harm will come, even to the smallest of humans, from any previously dangerous creature. This is His promise to all who believe that He is who He says He is, has done what He says He's done, and will do all He says He will do, who then also invite Him into their heart as their own Lord(a "Lord" is one who has the power of life and death over another.) Steve Irwin uplifted my soul when I gazed into his pure eyes filled with love, kindness and compassion. I held him in high esteem just as he did with all of God's creatures great and small. His passionate message of conservation and habitat will be remembered. I am not surprised by the honor he is receiving worldwide and the personal pain we all seem to be experiencing. He touched us all in his own very intimate and special way with his Great Spirit. I am confident that Terri will do a wonderful job raising their children as he chose his soul mate with tremendous pride and joy and let the world know how much he respected and appreciated her. When i live in Eugene, OR and Terri Irwin lived there and Steve got hurt a while back. He was in Sacred Heart Medical Center, my step mom was his nurse taking care of him and he hurt his arms from something, that was the closest i will ever get to being near Steve now that he is gone. I've been a very active animal rights advocate for 33 years and I adored Steve. I loved his delightful, infectious enthusiasm, his joie de vivre, his deep and sincere love for all animals and the way every creature, no matter how "creepy" to ignorant people was "gorgeous" to him.
There was a time when other animal rights people were taking pot-shots at him. I cannot imagine that any of them had ever watched his show.
I read all the previous posts on this Steve Irwin memorial page and was struck by the eloquence of some. I have an ache inside when I think about Steve, and it's good to know that so many recognize his worth and his importance.

I was watching tv last night and I saw the memorial service on the animal planet channel and I was so moved I had to write you and let you know how sad I feel of your loss.
