Photo Description In the first photo shown, you can see him focusing intently on a recently spotted fish. He watched that fish for quite some time before swiftly plunging his face into the pond and pulling out his tasty morsel. In the second photo, you can see our egret pinching the fish in his beak just before devouring. Though I feel for the fish, it was amazing to have the chance to watch nature in action!
During an early morning hike along the trails of El Dorado Nature Reserve in Long Beach, California, I stumbled upon this little egret in the waters below. I stopped, found a place to hunker down, and spent my morning watching him hunt for breakfast.
