With the summer months around the corner, we will be filling our freezers with garden vegetables. I want to remind my ThriftyFun friends about using a large can for easily filling Ziploc freezer bags. I use a large tomato can.
With the top and bottom of the can removed, place the can in the bag to hold the bag open. It makes a perfect chute for putting meats and vegetables in freezer bags and also keeps the opening and outside of the bag clean.

I tried this tip and really like it. It's faster and easier. I bought some cheap containers for freezing different fruits to make smoothies. Now, I like baggies better. They allow you to flatten out the fruit. This makes it so much easier to break up the frozen fruits to add to the blender. And guess what. I discovered cantaloupe makes a delicious smoothie!
Thanks
