I need a new roof, but can't afford it. I am in bankruptcy and can't get a loan to get one, but I need the front part of the roof done because it really looks bad.

You can try HUD.org and Habitat for Humanity.
You don't say where you are located so it is difficult to give you state specific sites that may be able to help. Often states have programs for low income residents that can help with various repairs IF the person qualifies.
You can always google Low Income Resident + home repairs + your state name, then try your city name, then your specific town name.
If you belong to a church or other religious organization talk to the pastor/priest/rabbi/leader and see if they have programs that can offer their parishioners help with a need like this (meaning a financial assist since these groups are usually not in a position to offer the labor or materials directly).
My last suggestion is that if you are computer savvy and have large social media group, you could create a go fund me account for yourself and ask your friends and family for help. People can be quite generous if they know you are in need.
Caveat about this method though is since you are filing for bankruptcy you need to ASK YOUR LAWYER first before going this route as this could impact your proceedings and I would NOT want to suggest something if your lawyer says NO WAY!! Please post back what you learn.
Sending up prayers that you can find the help you need.
