My white finch birds laid 3 eggs and were sitting on them continuously for 3 days. On the 4th day they stopped going into the nest. They didn't sit on it for around 10 hours. They just see the eggs from outside and hardly go in for less than 20 minutes.

That is not a good sign. See if there is another nest, and combine the eggs.
There are various reasons for a zebra finch to abandon its nest. You might want to check out the information at www.finchinfo.com/breeding/behaviors.php for advice on raising zebra finches. Immaturity of the birds, location of the cage, disturbances by people or household pets and nightfright can cause a finch to abandon its nest.
From my friend who used to raise finches, you have to let nature take its course and give them quiet and privacy.
Sometimes they are sitting on the eggs when you are not watching. Sometimes they know that the eggs are not viable. Sometimes they are just too new at the parenting gig to get it right....
If it has been 20 days (or the eggs start to smell) they will not hatch and you can carefully dispose of them. Sigh...
Hopefully you will have a sweet brood to watch...if not, maybe they will try again.
