Both Gouldian-parents help incubate the eggs during the day, but only the female sits on the egg during the night. Are you sure the female has already finished laying her eggs? Egg binding is an especially serious problem affecting female Gouldian finches during the time that they are attempting to lay eggs. Often, first time finch parents won't sit on their egg right away. Many species of finch won't even start incubating their eggs until the entire clutch is laid.
If you are sure that the eggs have been abandoned , the eggs may not be viable. Sometimes if you hoover near the nest, your Finches loose interest.
I would not interfere with the finches You will know soon enough if there will be babies.
It's actually not that easy to breed a Gouldian finch outside its native climate of Australia. You need to create the right conditions. I found an interesting post about growing gouldian finches: www.beautyofbirds.com/
