My grandchildren and I are making birdhouses out of used Folger's 11.3 oz. plastic coffee cans. They are handpainted and really awesome looking. We are selling them and all proceeds go towards helping with health care and infrastructure in the country of Mali, Africa.
I didn't anticipate how dificult it would be to find these cans in large numbers. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Why not take pictures of the finished product and advertise for supplies? Post your flyer at grocery stores as well as online telling people why you need the empty containers and where the proceeds go?
Try AA OR Alonon clubs or bowling alley cafe or pubs they would have them just ask them to save them for you little fellers. What a wonderful project. Good on you darlin'.
Could you ask for your request to be printed in the church bulletin?
So nice that you and your children are doing this.
Those other idea's were great and what I would have suggested. How about Craig's list as well?
Free cycle.org is a wonderful place to find things that people don't want to go into the land fill. You can also post wanted items on this too.
You might approach org. like the Order of Moose, Elk or other Fraternal groups. Even if you are not a member the will often assist in gathering supplies for you through a drive at their centers.
I have seen cans of Folger's in teacher work rooms and lounges when I was subbing for a school district in Houston. That should provide many of them.... and when all else fails..... ask your neighbors.
They sell the empties on e-bay
Start a go fundme account and show your product. Explain that all proceeds go to supplies to only our go on etsy for supplies our a Facebook page for freebies in your area and say "ISO......" (ISO = IN SEARCH OF) ;)
I would post an in search of request on the facebook swaps that are local.
everal way i would recommend.. put ads in church bulletins and saying where they help is going , with missionary churches, they would be more than willing to help.... also ad in paper....
I have quite a few empties and don't know what to do with them.
If you email me an address I'd be happy to send them if you paid the postage.
