Finding Cams for a Montgomery Ward Sewing Machine?

Hi. My suggestion, and it works for me when I am looking for something unusual is to go eBay or Etsy and type in a generic search....for example Vintage Sewing Cams and look through the listings (provided there aren't thousands of listings that is then I may be slightly more specific).

I say this because oftentimes vendors have no clue what they are selling and will have what you need but under a generic name. Also, sometimes they have things misspelled, and what I want will show up through the misspelling when I go more generic in my search. I have won several auctions for interesting items because the item name or company was spelled wrong and no one else found it!

I did an eBay and an Etsy search for you to see what I mean:

I believe you may need the actual model number to be able to locate cams that will fit your machine.

• In searches on eBay and Etna and even Google you will find quite a few vintage Montgomery Ward cams but very few of the sellers will know what model machines their cams will fit.

• There is very little information on the boxes that hold the cams so you may have to go by looking closely at the cams and comparing them with any you may have.
• Not sure how you can compare if you do not have any cams for your machines.
• Do you have a manual? I have not seen the contents of an older manual for a machine that uses cams so not sure if that would be of any help.
• I believe Montgomery Ward machines were made by several companies and it may be that some other models/brands may have interchangeable cams but obtaining this information may mean doing a lot of research and asking questions on different sewing machine sites.
• I am going to list some links that may have some information you could use but you may need the model number for your machine if you ask questions on any of these sites.
