We are a small group of volunteers working for Carers of Africa. We need 100 percent cotton material/cut pieces, satin ribbons 3/8 inches, and hotel soap to make sanitary items for young girls. Can someone please help with suggestions for finding donations?
Thank you.

Put want ads on Freecycle and Craigslist. Go to fabric stores and ask for donations. Estate sales also have fabric. If you tell them why you want it, Im sure they will give it to you.
You can write mission statements/letters to local establishments/companies that help donate to other charities and see if they'd like to help too!
It seems that Carers of Africa is in the UK/Australia?
Are you working in the US or?

Most of the suggestions offered here will be for US citizens but maybe some of the same sites are also located in other parts of the world and you can use them.
I would suggest you send your mission letter to church organizations in the US and see if they will distribute them for you.
You can find these organizations on Google church organizations USA
Shipping is expensive and you are needing specific items so I'm not sure there will be very many smaller US places that will be able to help you.
Churches do sometimes take on projects like this but it may only be a one time thing.
