Put a want ad on Freecycle or Craigslist.
Maybe put a listing on Craigslist and Freecycle and be sure to explain what it will be used for. Make a poster (computer) to put in any local store front windows especially the ones near where the event will be held.
Thrift shops are excellent sources for fabrics to repurpose...often times the piece isn't wearable, but the fabric is salvageable. Depending on your age, many offer senior discounts starting at age 55 too!
