I am looking for a free love seat and chair in the Peoria, Illinois area. Any suggestions on how to find free furniture?

I always start with friends and family and ask if they have unneeded items.
If that is not an option, have you tried asking at local churches? Some have free stores where you can shop for furniture, etc., at no cost.
If you are a member of a church/religious organization, some have discretionary funds that you can apply for to help you purchase items you need.
You could also start a go fund me account and publicize it on social media. You would be surprised, sometimes you just have to tell your story and ask for a little assistance and people help. When you are able, keep that good karma going by paying it forward!
Good luck!!
If you have a college in your area you probably have off campus housing areas. Students are often getting rid of furniture at the end of each semester because they are moving out of apartments. You could put up notices or leaflets in those areas. Also, get in touch with landlords or property managers, who deal with furniture left behind. They would probably welcome you taking furniture off their hands so they don't have to pay to dispose of it. Also, try bartering with the owner of a used furniture store. Perhaps you could do something for them, like cleaning or cooking to trade for furniture. Good luck.
Put an ad on Freecycle or Craigslist.
Use your local Nextdoor.com
so on craigslist i found a few some look like office chairs and others like a chair sofa thing peoria.craigslist.org/
this looks good near your area 'free leather couch and chair' peoria.craigslist.org/
and 'free leather recliner' peoria.craigslist.org/
also especially for big furniture definiely give dumpster diving a go. Nobody wants to move those odious, easily devalued things such as couches or chairs so if you go examine nearby sidewalks the day before trash day guaranteed you'll find something
also on the same craigslist look for CURB ALERT ads
