My dad is in desperate need of help in repairing his house, it's falling apart. He can't afford to repair it. His ceiling had a small fire due to really old wiring, one bathroom shower is leaking water under the house. The attic is too old to go into, you might fall through. The ceiling in room was repaired, but is falling through again, due to, yet again water damage. The house is super cold in the winter and deathly hot in the summer. Poorly ventilated. Oh yes, the house may have a problem with the breakers.
He really needs help fixing his house up, please advise!

It is cheaper to make repairs one at a time, as the need occurs. There is a nationwide organization that is government based that will help seniors and the disabled with things like that. I don't know the name of it because it has different names in different states and even in different cities.
From what I understand they do have limits on the cost of repairs and there is a waiting list. Also, if for some reason you father would have to leave the house before a certain number of years had elapsed the repair money would have to be paid back on a pro-rated basis.
