Finding Sponsors for Daughter's Cheerleading Activities?

Is there anyone that can help point me in the right direction. I am looking for companies or organizations that sponsor cheer-leaders. We live in the northern Virginia area. My daughter is 15 years old and she has been a cheerleader since she was 6 years old, cheering for 2 different all-star teams. I have paid for all of this by myself every year 3,000 plus. And one year it was 4,400. And that does not include food, lodging, travel fees, entry into competitions and the nice things being sold at the venue.

My daughter is amazing cheerleader. She is currently at a level 4/5. She is a A/B student and very humble and respectable. She won cheerleader of the year for 2016-2017 out of 89 girls in her organization. This year I had to remove her from the team because I just could not afford it. I tried my hardest to keep her in it selling dinners, car washes, etc. But I just couldn't keep up with the payments. Which broke both of our hearts. My daughter was devastated. She cried for weeks. And as a mom I felt so bad that I could no longer support her dream. My heart was crushed!

I am single parent and I am currently only working part-time. So I am in dire need of finding some sponsors to help me help my daughter continue her dream. Her team even made it all the way the Summit last year in Florida, which was amazing. Tryouts are approaching soon May 20,2018. So any advice that you can give will be greatly appreciated. I have tried so many options and yet I still have no answer. Thank you for your time and understanding.

Cheerleading is an expensive sport. I hope your daughter will be able to join this year.

  • Her team does not have fundraising options throughout the season to help out parents' with the costs? They could do car washes, bake sales, candy sales perhaps? Or, you can buy bulk candy bars and sell for $2 & all proceeds will go to your daughters cheerleading fund. Perhaps people from work would buy them, friends, neighbors or family members.

  • During birthdays, instead of gifting gifts any donations of money would help toward her cheerleading fund.
  • Some companies or local stores sponsor teams as a whole like if they wear their outfit, or sponsor a product that is relating to cheerleading, so forth so you can perhaps reach out to some companies and write them a sponsor letter via e-mail and see if they want to help out. But as a team like the banner they would put the sponsor logos on it (as a way of advertising too).

Good luck!

You could look for businesses in your area to sponsor her.
You could also do a go fund me raiser online.

congratuations on your daughter's talents.

Rotary Clubs and Lions Clubs will often provide scholarships to deserving students, and an all-star cheerleader is the sort of thing that would interest them. The idea is they are helping a talented young person achieve something and this fits the bill

this may be a bit 'out there' but you could try to do some PR campaign, by contacting a local college football team and explaining the situation. I am sure that if you have a college with a big team in your area someone in their PR department would point you towards a cheerleading or sports organization that helps young sports people achieve their dreams. You don't say where you're located or else i could point you in the right direction

please pursue this; sports is one of the few places in which a talented and dedicated working class person can rise above
