The Freecycle groups often give mattresses of all sizes away.
There are a lot of places that help low income families get free furniture. I can give you some links here to check out to find a free bed for you.

You can start off with these and see if they can help you find more places in your arewa. It is easier to search in your locations if you can add that here I might find other places that are closer to you.
I have family members who work for a resort hotel and the mattresses are periodically sold for $5-10 each to the public and hotel employees. Call and explain your situation to some of the hotels and motels in your community.
