Finding a Free Full Size Bed?

I need suggestions for finding a free full size bed. It can be used. I am receiving SSI and am sleeping on the floor.

You can search on Craigslist, NextDoor, FreeCycle for free/low cost bed.

You can check with:
- The Salvation Army
- Word of mouth with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc
- Local churches

Everyone has given good suggestions but have you given any thought as to how you will get your 'free' bed picked up and delivered or who will be doing the loading and unloading?

I do not believe that any of the places suggested will do any of these things.
Well - friends or relatives may be able to help or maybe someone on Nextdoor might have the transportation to help and maybe provide assistance with labor but as a general rule none of these will be able to help you.

There are a lot of people on SSI that still take care of their daily needs but when it comes to getting free furniture most do not have the transportation or assistance to load and unload large items.
I, personally, do not know of any thrift store, Salvation Army, Goodwill, that does not have a sign posted stating you must provide your own loading help and that they do not deliver.
People giving away stuff on Freecycle or Craigslist would seem unlikely to provide free help and transportation of goods they want someone to haul away.

I'm only stating the obvious so please give this some thought and be sure to discuss pick up and delivery with someone when you answer an ad or see stuff in a thrift store.

Obviously, you may appeal to a manager at any of these locations stating your need and your circumstances and someone may decide to help you out with free delivery service.

I would suggest you try Nextdoor and a local church as these seem more likely to be able to help.
Nextdoor is a good site for many things as well as information about what is going on in your immediate areas so be sure to check it out.
