I would love if anyone could help me and my wife find a mattress and box spring. We were given one yesterday and it was infested with bed bugs.

Try Freecycle, Craig's List, Local Churches , Word of mouth. Because it is the first of the month there are people giving up more or less to move. Often moving they give away or put on the curb these items. On these various sites the advertise the things they are willing to give away ,so they do not have to transport.
Sorry about that but I'm glad you found out ahead of time.
The only thing I can tell you is that people on Craigslist give these away all the time. As well as on facebook groups. Or you can post a 'free mattress' post on those places as well.
You probalby don't want to hear this because this is probably how you got the bedbugs to begin with.
I don't know what your situation is, but if you have access to a steamer and to diatomaceous earth, you can do a great job of killing the bedbugs.
I agree that you can get rid of bedbugs but it can be a real hassle if you get them in your house it's best to examine everything that has cloth on it before you take it inside (even if it's from friends or family!).
Sometimes furniture stores have used mattresses they have picked up when delivering a new set so maybe if know of a store near by you might give them a call (a visit is better) and ask if they might let you know when they have one coming in. I have known of a store (Badcock) that dropped off a used set on their way back to the store (probably never happen again but you never know about things like this).
Place an wanted ad on Craigslist, Freecycle, and maybe Nextdoor (just remember that Nextdoor could be neighbors if you choose your area).
I have noticed really nice sets (new usually) for sale at a local Habitat Restore but not sure about the prices. They do occasionally contact people when they have a set in their store. They will deliver but I'm sure they have to charge a fee for that.
Usually having someway to get big items home and delivered inside is where people have the most trouble.
Not very many thrift stores will take mattresses anymore but I have seen sets at Salvation Army stores for low prices (and they do provide many things free) and they also deliver (for a fee).
If you have a church nearby you can also contact them (offices may not be open right now) as they help people in need in their neighborhood.
Nextdoor.com is my favourite for freebies. Most reliable, by far. Just sign up, put in your zip code, and look in the free stuff area.
This is the major problem when getting free mattresses and box springs given to you. I would really recommend that you talk to your local church and tell them what you need.
