Finding a Low Cost Vet?

I can't afford a vet at this time. I need to know where I can take my dog. She hasn't eaten for 3 days and she can't poop either. Please help me find a vet that won't charge me a lot.

Vets pay for their training-college, medical school, and then pay for their clinics, staff, etc. They also have to live and pay expenses like the rest of us. So, there are very few "low-cost" vets. If you can't afford vet visits, etc., then you can't afford a pet.

If you were ill or had an accident, you would expect immediate medical care and probably pay for some or most of it yourself. Suggest you find a way to provide medical treatment now for your pet. The longer you wait, the more difficult and expensive the problem will be and your dog is sufferiing.

You can surrender you dog to the local humane society and they will provide care for your dog and then it will be adopted. Some Vets have Care Credit where you pay over time without interest.

Some Vets have a fund for people who cannot pay for their pets' care.

Care Credit is a money lending company and requires credit checks, specific income levels etc., just like any other money lending company. If you can qualify for a loan, good, but you must repay it over time and with interest like all other money lending companies.

The sentence that follows is how Care Credit describes their lending practices. You will pay no interest under these terms. However if you miss a payment, you will be charged retroactive interest. Not the best deal in the world but better than some. "With shorter term financing options of 6, 12, 18 or 24 months no interest is charged on purchases of $200 or more when you make the minimum monthly payments and pay the full amount due by the end of the promotional period.

If you do not, interest is charged from the original purchase date*." Check out their website.

Contact your local animal shelter or dog rescue foundation to see if thee is one in your area. If there is not the most humane thing to do is to turn your dog over to one of these places so it can get the help it needs ASAP.

I hope that you can get her to a vet soon. This happened with my small dogs - eating bones; some dogs have a bad habit of eating stones also. therefore, never give them bones.

The vet gave him 1 tablespoon of Medicinal liquid paraffin oil (paraffinum liquidum) three times per day for a few days. Also, give as much water that she can drink by spoon. If you cannot get that oil, buy a dog laxative (do not give human laxative).

For now, boil pumpkin and try giving her spoonfuls. Also you can scrambled egg (no salt)

Add pumpkin/ squash, carrots, rice, yucca (cassava) and spinach to her food

Probiotics: Give her plain (raw, lacto-fermented, or unpasteurized) yogurt with live cultures - No added sugar or fruit. Daily servings:
Small breed: 1 teaspoon
Medim breed: 1 tablespoon
Large breed: 2 tablespoons

People foods to avoid feeding to dogs: avocados, alcohol, baking soda and powder, caffeine, chives, chocolate, corn cobs, fruit pits and seeds, garlic, grapes, macadamia nuts and walnuts (see Nuts), milk and milk-based products, mushrooms, nutmeg (and other spices), onions, raisins, rhubarb leaves, tomatoes (especially stems and leaves), xylitol (found in many candies and gums), and yeast dough.

If I remember anything else, I'll add it. Good luck.
