Do you know this machine's model number? There is a motor on the back that says "Brother model c" and the plate has the number 953305. On the front of the machine is a plate with what looks like 616143302. Any information would help me to then locate a manual.

I have the same machine but finding info on it has been difficult.
You may want to try YouTube unless you want to pay for a manual as I think Brother is the company that for some unknown reason discontinued all their old manuals.
You may get lucky and someone on this site has that exact machine and can copy and email you a version. I wish I could help you with that way, sorry.

You can get the manual on face book: vintage Japanese sewing machines. I recently found one for the one I received recently.Look in the files there. Pretty sad there is No information on this machine online!
This is a very vintage machine and I believe a manual will be difficult to find. If found, I do not think it will be free.
