I purchased a Hilton sewing machine from Goodwill, but it didn't have a manual. The accessory box says zig zag on it, but I can't find out how you lift machine from base to get to serial numbers and can't find info on it either.
Please help.

Your Hilton is what is called a 'badged' machine in that it was made by a company (maybe White, Singer, Brother or other company name) and sold to a company or store that used the name 'Hilton' in the same manner as Sears has always used Kenmore.
There seems to be several machines that could be almost a match so you may be able to find a good free manual. Some machines that look similar.
