I do not know how much constraint you are needing/looking for but it seems a regular size bed with full side rails would be safer.
- I assume this is for night time protection so that means no one would be in the room but maybe available near by?
- Is it possible the adult will try to climb over the rails? If that should happen you need the bed lower to the floor than a higher "baby" bed might be.
- Hopefully you have some sort of system set up so someone can monitor this person as they could climb out of bed even with rails or sides on an adult crib.
- You can talk this problem over with a representative of any local association that helps with these problems as they may have some way to help you. Google dementia or Alzheimer help with your zip code and several sites should come up.
- The doctor should also be able to give you names to call for assistance.
- These are the best places for you to ask for help and guidance so hopefully matters will work out best for everyone involved.
- If you still need items you might try postings on your local Craigslist, Nextdoor.com, Freecycle and some newspapers have free ads for this type of item.

You could check with the insurance provider and see if you can rent the bed. My grandfather was able to rent the hospital bed for his home and it was a low fee.
