Finding a Vet Practice That Takes Payments?

I need help in taking my dog for a vet visit. She has a large hard knot on her right side and it's going under her leg. She is a rescue dog. They took a small tumor of the same spot, now it's growing. I cannot afford to pay all at once, do any vets take payments?

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. I had to have my dog put to sleep because of this problem. The tumor in your dog sounds like it is growing and will continue to get larger. In my dog it spread quickly to her throat and even her brain. She had one tumor in her brain that caused her to go blind almost over night.

Since your dog was a rescue dog you can try taking her back to the Human Society. Many Human Society's have a vet on hand to help dogs in need. I think your dog qualifies for this because it is a rescue dog.

By "rescue dog" do you mean that you adopted it from your Humane Society?

  • If you adopted it from your Humane Society then most likely they will help you even if it was adopted several months past.

  • Is there some reason you cannot take your dog back to the same place that removed the first tumor? It appears they did not remove all of the small tumor as it is spreading from the original point so they may be willing to help you with payments.
  • If your local Humane Society cannot help you at their location, they will usually have addresses/names of vets in your area who may take payments.
  • As you already know, this is a serious problem and waiting is not an option.
  • If you take your dog to the shelter you may have better luck in getting them to help you.

I sincerely hope you can get help soon and hopefully your pet will have a full recovery.

If you cant work out some kind of payment schedule with the vet, go to the ASPCA or Humane Society. If there is a vet school near you they can help too

You can call your local vets and ask if they have a payment option. Some may have that option.

You say your dog is a "rescue dog" . I would go back and check with where ever you got your dog, how long ago was it ?? did it have this condition when you got it ??

did you pay to get your dog ?? find out if you are entitled to a free exam by a vet there.
