I Just bought a 1998 Crown Victoria, locked it and don't know the access code.

If you can read the VIN # through the windshield, that's all you need to take to the dealer to have a new FOB or key made. I've heard that some thieves use this method to steal cars.
My neighbor did this and was able to get information through our local lock-smith.
Maybe you could call around and see if someone can help you. Otherwise you will most likely have to pay a visit to your local Ford dealership.

They answer your question about getting code without having to buy another key fob which is expensive to replace.
